after my first week of uni,which only consisted of 3 days at uni I WENT TO THE AVALON AIRSHOW on saturday!!! this year, lisa, ken and i were in luck because my cousin offered to give us a lift there!!! ^_^ he was going with his friends as well, but after a family gathering he asked if we wanted to go...and we said YEPPIES!!!!
many of you might know already, the Avalon Airshow was held at Avalon Airport, which was in the direction of where Geelong is. Getting there took us 3 hours. and returning only took a bit over an hour...LIKE WTHECK!!!! this was due to the heavy traffic that we faced on the free way AND at the venue where we moved slower than a person riding a bike...we were stuck there for ONE WHOLE HOURR. i even think the pace of people walking was faster than our car.LOL
i felt sorry for alan, because he's been looking forward to this for 2 years (avalon airshow is a dual annual event) and the plane (s) he was looking forward to just flew and performed amazing routines above our head while we were still stationary in the car. We only moved 10metres or so meaning alan always needed to pay attention to his driving while the remaining 4 passengers WOWed and gazed at the loud planes/jets.
yes yes yes...he kept on swearing but then again..who wouldn't be pissed! those performances were usually the last. but they were the first this year :(
the road trip there was extremely memorable, but i wont expand on that note..because it was extremely embarrassing. anyways!!!! when we got there, there was a huge line..but we got over it very quickly. bought our tickets (that i still have) and entered the amazing display of planes. some were huge and some were small. there were a few that amazed me but we didnt have much time to take photos. so we headed straight to the public viewing area. we found our spot and nibbled on the breadtop breads and the tobleroine and carrot cakes my cousin prepared!!! it was like a little picnic!! ^^
23 sounded like it would be rather cool at geelong..BUT OMG IT WAS PROBABLY ONE OF THE BEST DAYS TO WATCH THE AIRSHOW!!!! clear blue sky, cool winds and the blinding sun...
the planes kept on spiraling upwards towards the sun so my head was tilted back to the point where i couldnt go further back. eeks!
