im already in my 11th week of sem 1 of uni! as many of you have said...time flies by so quickly!
the fact that exams are in less than 1 month freaks me out! this years subjects seem a bit harder and i think im struggling!!! arggh i have to get my act together and study SOLIDLY!
putting that aside, i just wanted to write about my life...today i volunteered with teamMonash at the Mother's Day Classic Run/Walk. unfortunately i was not allowed to choose which positions i wanted to take so i was put in team 5 as part of the cheer leading team at the finish line. now that was probably the best spot to cheer at because that was where everyone used their last ounce of energy to wave and smile at us despite the hectic 8km run which was accompanied by pouring rain, sun, strong winds, a few cool breezes everynow and then. haha what can i say...its ME!BOURNE! (ermmm cant quite remember how they did the fancy thing )
it was amazing seeing families coming together to run for a good cause. some..not all appreciated our cheers and surprisingly they cheered us on as well when we became tired. Cheering with our loud voices and bang sticks reminded me of high school athletics carnival. But the only difference was...i had the energy to cheer continuously today, knowing that everyone has taken out precious and valuable time to train and participate in this event was rather inspirational to me. Some ran because they had close and loved ones who have suffered or suffering or just knew that participating in these events could make a difference. Everyone had their own unique stories and whilst cheering and listening to them, i was very touched and amazed at how amazing so many of these people were. Some participants were going through chemo but she still had the spirit to participate. Some have recovered and some are still fighting...and i hope every one of them continue to fight, because their resilience is giving others hope! you guys are AMAZING!
as you can see...it was SUNNY! when we finished cheering...LOL
Other amazing little things include seeing a 2 yr old boy walking/running with his grandparents. it was ADORABLE! and i loved seeing the kids competing against each other to the finish line! its good seeing how active they are :D ALSO! i saw Zena and Amanda who participated in the walk! heheehehe it felt so good seeing them after...1 year! woooo!
hmmm what else to update...well exams are soon...dont think anyone is looking forward to that LOL but yeah ...ive just been working..the usual...uni, im going out for dinner next week with the cousins, which i am quite looking forward to!
also some time in July, my friend has invited me to her baptism ceremony, im not 100% of what is involved but i was really happy that she's invited me to attend. :) it is a really important event for her so i am really looking forward to it.
hope everyone's been good!!!!! take care everyone! this weather is horribleee :( remember to layer up!!!!
until my next post...TOOODDLLES!
