I HAVE BEEN SO OBSESSED WITH WATCHING TRIUMPH IN THE SKIES 2!!! i have been soo damn excited about its production last year and it is finally airing!!! I have been waiting for so long!
The first series aired 10 years ago...back in 2003 and in a way i have grown up with the memories of these legendary characters. It was like any other drama...a few male leads and a bunch of new comers who gave a fresh feel! new faces, new ways of acting and new things to talk about. Now that a decade has gone by...they're all (mainly) promoted to leading actors/actress'!
There are heaps of heated online discussion about the professionalism of the drama, the quality of acting, the story line the characters itself and the new cuties !!! ;) I don't really have the time like other typical hk people who sit in front of the computer analysing the entire episode..picking up on the faults and 'fake' tears that Fala Chen delivers. But i am a fan...an extreme fan who just enjoys it for the strong characters they have tried so hard to include in the sequel and the amazing scenery they have brought to us viewers!
This time, they visited Taiwan, England, France and HK (itself). Travelling is fun...IT IS AMAZING NO DOUBT ABOUT THAT but when you're travelling with the mindset of all these shots they need to complete by a certain day/time and the long lines they have to spit out ... it is tiring..and stressful. Acting is hard work and i think for the time, stress and other circumstances they have been put through i think have done a really good job. Of course, being a heavily invested and promoted drama, there would be A LOT OF attention given to every single little aspect of the drama...but sometimes people just need to appreciate with what they are given! HK CITIZENS...YOU GUYS COMPLAIN WAY TOO MUCH OR YOU JUST HAVE TOO MUCH SPARE TIME TO CRITICIZE OTHERS! Yes...criticism does help them improve their acting but don't just put them down...you have to at least appreciate their dedication and the production crews hard work...
anywhoos aside from those complaints...i want to go over some characters...Sam Tong (Captain Tong!) he truly gives off a loving and adorable vibe of someone who has lost his special partner. He shows his cool image as a pilot and how he superficially seems to have moved on but deep down he is living with regrets as he was unable to say goodbye to his sick wife. Whenever he holds the triangel, and when flashbacks of his love life runs through his mind...he has this...really sad look in his eyes ... I don't think ive really seen these kind of emotions being manifested in recent dramas because other crying scenes....seem rather....dramatic. But Sam's seem more realistic! He gives off a different feel ...or maybe it is because i recapped on how their relationship developed in the first series...i was able to connect! I also don't know how this loyal and loving husband ends up falling for someone else who is not serious about anything...but oh wells there are still 20 episodes to go so i guess Holiday will change dramatically into a loving woman! I'm looking forward to all these relationships developing in this drama! You can see so many themes in this drama...maybe because it is also a modern series so i was able to connect more easily!
Captain Cool is SUCH a player but i love him. His killer smile with dimples just gets to me all the time!! THEY'RE SO KAWAIIIII!!! I wouldn't want to date someone like him in real life but he is so good looking. A character well played :D i dont really know where he is going to end up but his playful character does brighten up the drama :)
Other characters are also doing a great job and i am so looking forward to the next episodes!!!! WEEOOOOWOOEOEOWOWOW
