VISION AUSTRALIA

This year 2013, i went back volunteer with Vision Australia at Myer! For the first time, i didn't have my cousin with me who usually kept me company along with another volunteer but because she had work this year, i was volunteering myself. However it was rewarding nevertheless! I volunteered for 2 shifts and coincidentally both of my shifts were spent with the same girls! They were such lovely people! Cracked jokes every now and then and most importantly we worked so well together! We helped each other out and it made me shifts so fun!

In particular there was a family who stood out the most because of their generosity and cuteness!!! We were in the middle of wrapping presents when two brothers probably aged between 5-8 who ran up the escalators towards us and asked us to wrap a present for them! THey looked flustered and puffed out because they were trying to wrap a present they bought their mum without her knowing! So i quickly promised without telling them that it cost money ! It was fine in the end because they still gave us a small donation!

They purchased a MAC lip product from downstairs and wanted to surprise their mother and it was just soooo cute! They were cheeky! On Monday the family came back and the boys remembered us and stood there smiling at us! So we waved they waved and then ran off. a few hours later, they came back and the mother told us how the children bought them a present...from MAC! WE THEN QUESTIONED THE LITTLE KIDS WHY THEY TOLD HER!!! WE TRIED SO HARD KEEPING IT A SECRET!!!
She then told us how the kids got 3 MAC sales assistant to help them pick the present..and we were all awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww-ing !!! that was the sweetest thing ever!!!!! The eldest brother then told us how they their gift was only $10! *WINK* He was such a cheeky boy...that wink made me laugh for the next hour!!! It also became the topic we talked about for the rest of the shift.

ALl in all, it was another fun shift! We didn't get our goal of 100 presents wrapped...we were 4 short! But at least we got donations!!! GO A-TEAM! Im looking forward to volunteering with you again next year!
