Anyways, this conversation began when she said she'd read me her speech since i would be missing out on it and there was that sentence..or two that really caught my attention. Friends...You don't have to always meet up with them to maintain that friendship. A friendship can last a while even if you see them for a good solid catch up without distractions once every few months. This reminded me of the saying my tutors tell us...it is all about the quality, not the quantity.
That basically sums up how i had felt at the moment. From 2010-2012 i basically changed locations for my education and therefore i had a new environment to adapt to. Trying to keep in contact with those really awesome friends were hard and i am glad that an effort was made by both parties because up until now, i am still having laughs and funny moments with them as we constantly recall those fun times and the new memories that we have created which we love to share with each other. At one point in time i hadn't seen my uni friends for months! No msgs either...it felt like that friendship was dying down and that i may have lost them despite how much time we spent together previously. But making an effort to see them was definitely the right thing to do. Once i did see them, it felt like we were just hanging out normally a week ago. The time we hadn't spent together either for study groups or just the usual chill out sessions didn't create a significant barrier between us. It was just a quick 10min ..hey whats been happening and then everything came together again. They are so accepting despite what i had done without telling most of them.
I can not ask to have met anyone better than you guys. Because not only are you motivating me throughout....EVERYTHING! but you have became my role models. The optimism, cheekiness, attitude and your smile that you bring to everyone is unique to you. Thank you for that because i have learnt so much from you. No matter what happens...stand up and keep on going. You'll never know what you can really achieve if you don't try.
Meeting a true friend who brings the better out of you is hard...because everyone is different. Appreciate every one of them, even if they influence you in a negative way. Because you will learn from them. You will realise that those are the people who are not right for you and then there are those who impact you positively. Learn from them to be better person :)
