On my way to work an asian man was having lunch on the bus. Within his zip lock bag were 4 slices of white bread and i believe a very thin spread of jam was placed in between. He hurriedly ate as much as he could before getting off the bus and finishing it off at the train station. He reminded me of the asians who took the courageous decision to leave their country so they could build a better life for their children and family. But upon reaching that dream, they must sacrifice a lot of things. Who knows, he may have a well off life back in their country but once they come over, everything changes...lifestyle, quality of food, social life...we never really understand what our parents have given up and gone through just to give us a better future and yet we take their love for granted.

Not saying i am the perfect child but imagine if I moved overseas and how challenging and daunting it would all be because i am leaving my comfort zone. Sometimes they may have given up their well off life and needed to have jobs that were far less desirable than what they had just because they did not know the language or did not have the equivalent qualifications and at the same time they needed money to make a living so they basically settled for whatever they could get their hands on. All the suffering and pain they have gone through yet the next generation refuse to help them out when they're in need. Not saying everyone is like that but i think children need to learn the importance of their family...how in the end it is them who will stick by them and support them no matter what. They most certainly do not deserve to go through the suffering another time when they have used decades to build a solid foundation for us and to be neglected once we are bit better off in life with a job or a relationship.

The most important thing i think people should never forget is the love and support their guardian angels have given them. There are most certainly countless ways of displaying this and how people interpret things ... have you thought of the times when your parents have stuck with you throughout the night when you were unwell or just needed a cuddle to sleep? and have you thought of the times when your parents have waited for you to return home because you decide to party with your friends just because it seemed like the 'in' thing?

I have had friends tell me that im an adult and i could do whatever i wanted...e.g. disregard what my parents think. But in all honestly i strongly oppose this because they have spent so long bringing us up, its not an easy job and now that i am grown, i dont want them to worry about me and suffer because of me. It is time that they enjoy life and fully receive the love and respect that they deserve because in my heart they are the most amazing people in the entire world. Only they would sacrifice their whole just to give us a better life. Nothing is more admirable and courageous than them. Everyone is admirable in their own way. I love my family and i can only say how fortunate i am to have them in my life.
