Yayyyy! After seeing so many fb status' and photos of big feasts being posted on instagram/twitter and facebook im super excited to say that im finally having family over for a big meal! Except my parents and a cousin are overseas so we were missing people.
It was a day filled with chit chat and heaps of greetings that we tried to memorise but always failed to recite all of them. However it was a good laugh for the aunties and uncles :)
We had our traditional feast with duck, pork, chicken , fish , vegies, some sort of seafood and another dish with black moss which was really popular. Because when you say the word it basically sounds like increase your wealth !
We also had our longan and lychee as dessert but this year we decided to become just a little creative and so we naagggeddd and beeggeedd our eldest cousin to drive us to messina in fitzroy for ice cream. It took some time but he gave in in the end ! We bought 1kg worth of ice cream and it was only $19 and that was so much cheaper than buying individual scoops! I was so excited when they rang the doorbell. I gotta say I do have pretty awesome cousins hehehe
